Introduction to Wildlife Drawing
Format, Content, Cost and Schedule – 2020
1x “Wildlife Drawing TASTER” plus 5x “Introduction to Wildlife Drawing” Workshops
A series of 5 half-day, fortnightly, Study and Draw “Introduction to Wildlife Drawing” workshops, preceded 2 weeks before by a “Wildlife Drawing Taster” session to introduce the subject and basic drawing principles. The Study and Draw workshops will be run fortnightly thereafter
The Wildlife Drawing Taster plus 5 Study and Draw Workshops can be booked either as individual sessions or as a Complete Course
All workshop sessions, whether “Tasters” or more intensive “Study & Draw”, will focus upon selected specimens/species of animals and plants from the Warrington Museum Natural History Collection – telling the natural history “stories” of the chosen reference subjects, and teaching techniques for drawing them from close observation.
Participants will learn the natural history and observe the basic form of the chosen subject and then combine this with different drawing techniques to produce sketches and detailed studies.
Each workshop will be based mainly in The Classroom but with 30 mins to an hour of each session spent, dependent upon the subject, in the relevant Natural History Gallery to enable participants to gain a broader view of the collections and understanding of the subject.
